Since 2002 Rob has been consulting in a number of industries including coal mining, law, information technology, banking, shipping logistics and not-for profit organisations.
Prior to joining Salient Consulting he accumulated over 37 years corporate experience in senior roles in the Banking and Finance sector with the Commonwealth Bank. While at the bank he became involved with Macdonald Associates as a co-presenter, mentor and coach of the SLT material which he also actively used in his role as a line manager.
For more than 15 years Rob was instrumental in driving structural change at a business unit level resulting in the creation of teams of excellence focused on meeting customer needs and managing risk.
During his banking career he held numerous senior executive roles across three States in Australia. These roles included Chief Manager of the bank’s Melbourne office, Regional Manager Sales and Service, Northern Metropolitan Sydney and Regional Manager, Business Banking Metropolitan Sydney. His banking industry experience traverses branch/retail banking, corporate lending and administrative roles.
In the late 1980s Rob was also a director and chairman of an industry related Credit Union.
During the course of his career, Rob developed a total management approach and regards himself as someone who works “on the business rather than in the business”. It was during these years that Rob developed a strong interest in the nurturing of people as individuals and in teams. He is an accredited master coach who believes that the only way to achieve change in an organization is to drive the behaviours designed to improve and lift the performance of team leaders as well as individual team members.
